Welcome to Manse Lane Bed and Breakfast, Gananoque's Oldest B & B.

Wow! Can you believe this is our sixth season running Manse Lane? It seems like yesterday we were taking possession, renovating and learning how to poach eggs!

In the off season Bruce and friends have been busy refinishing our hardwood floors, replacing wallpaper (don't worry the wallpaper in the front hall is still there) and we have some especially exciting news...

Announcing the WESTVIEW ROOM, our sixth guest room, will be ready for occupancy in early May. This room is located on the ground floor, so there's no steps to master, and features a new lovely en suite bathroom, a fireplace and a cosy library corner. This room is ideal for seniors who have trouble with stairs or for honeymooners -- how about senior honeymooners!

In other news...this year we have asked Chris and Ted from Turtle Island B & B (two doors up the street) to manage Manse Lane on a daily basis so that Bruce can spend more time on the Gananoque Brewing Company, his latest venture. Ted and Chris are Bruce's friends from Toronto who moved to the neighbourhood two years ago. This year they will be managing both B & Bs with Bruce making the occasional guest appearance. Donna Dewolfe will be helping out as well- she is a marvelous hostess and loves to cook!

Manse Lane Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful Victorian home located in Gananoque, Ontario, the Canadian Gateway to the Thousand Islands. We are pleased to invite you to enjoy our hospitality and explore this world-famous region.

Small enough to provide cozy, personalized attention, yet large enough to give you space and privacy, Manse Lane is the perfect choice for anyone seeking a relaxing and friendly place to stay while on holiday. We regularly host travelers from all over North America and Europe. Breakfast times offer an opportunity to chat with your fellow guests, or to simply enjoy the delicious food while anticipating the day ahead.

2013 marks our sixth year as the owners of Manse Lane and we appreciate the patience and good wishes that our past visitors have imparted.

Two years ago Bruce launched the Gananoque Brewing Company and this year he is building the brewery plant on the main street in Gananoque so that is keeping him pretty busy. This summer we expect the beer company to be even busier (and tastier) so Bruce will be hosting at Manse Lane 3-4 days a week and will be bringing in some additional help to balance out the schedule.

As always, we are happy to answer your questions over the telephone, so please don't hesitate to call. Our coordinates are found on our Contact page.

Our theatre package is the best in Gananoque! $77pp in May/June

This year we continue to offer our sumptuous theatre package for $77 pp (double occupancy required) in May and June, which includes theatre tickets, accommodation (en suite room) and breakfast. That's less than the price of a theatre ticket in Toronto! You can check out the Thousand Islands Playhouse and see all of this year's shows here. We can't wait for opening night!

Announcing the WESTVIEW ROOM

This spring we renovated our library on the ground floor and created the Westview Room, a beautiful guest room with en suite bathroom, a fireplace, a cosy library corner and more. This room is idea for guests who don't want to negotiate the stairs or who just want a little more space. The bathroom features a no step shower.

FREE BEER in May

Ok, it helps that Bruce owns the local brewery which makes great beer, and it helps that there are two bars within a three minute walk of Manse Lane, both of which serve local beer. Now this? If you book a room at Manse Lane in May Manse Lane will buy you a beer. Technically we will give you a gift certificate that you can use to buy whatever, but we hope you try the local beer! (Maximum two gift certificates per room per stay, must be redeemed during your stay at Manse Lane).

Gananoque Brewing Company

In addition to his duties at Manse Lane, Bruce is the owner of the Gananoque Brewing Company, a small micro-brewery. The company has several craft beers on sale at local bars and restaurants in Gananoque, Kingston and in Toronto. The company's latest beer, Valour rye Beer, uses an organic rye variety that is grown north of Gananoque!

Boaters welcome

Manse Lane is only a stone's throw from the St. Lawrence River and we have arranged docking facilities for our guests at the 1000 Islands Playhouse dock. Space is limited so please contact us to reserve your slip.

Pool update

Please note that our pool is now closed for the season. It is expected to open by May 24.

Family getaways at Manse Lane

Gananoque is conveniently located between Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa so it's a great location for family get-togethers. In fact, our family has been coming to Gan for mini-reunions since the early 1980s. We are happy to rent our entire house to a family for a weekend. In the off-season the rate is between $400-$500 per day, depending on the number of mouths to feed. During the peak season we rent the house for between $500 and $600 per day. We can sleep up to 14 people (depending on the combination of parents and children); if your family is larger, we can arrange rooms with a neighbouring B & B.
